Ellie Ellis: Ellie Ellis was born and raised in New England in the small town of Mystic, Ct which is home to the famous Mystic Seaport among many other coastal attractions. Ellie was employed by Ortronics Inc a manufacturing facility for over 30 years and traveled extensively with the company. She moved to Florida to start a division of the company in 1988. After retiring from Ortronics in 2004 she and her husband Richard spent 3 years desperately trying to decide on which beach in the Caribbean was the best. After 3 frustrating years of indecision she returned to Longboat Key and decided to get a real job since she had failed miserably in her mission. She is now happily employed at Sun Resorts International as the VP of Rental Operations and hopes to one day return to her pursuit of the “Perfect Beach”.
Suzanne Coons: Suzanne Coons has resided just off the islands of Anna Maria and Longboat Key for over 20 years. Having relocated from the harsh cold winters of New England and taking a liking to the warm weather climate, she has taken up gardening here in the tropics as well as fishing off the shores of our beautiful beaches. Suzanne is Sun Resorts International’s Rental Department Administrator; with her previous experience in the vacation rental industry, she brings the knowledge of our Island rental properties and their values to our rental team.
Maureen Florio: Maureen moved to Longboat Key one year ago after living and travelling all over the world with her hubby and 3 children. After living in Connecticut, New York, Texas, Korea, New Zealand, Philippines, and North Carolina, Maureen has finally found paradise and is hoping to hang around for a long time! She joined the Sun Resorts International team November 3, 2008, as the Rental Reservations Manager and will continue, in her own words, “as long as Ellie wants me!” Being exposed to a variety of cultures gives Maureen the confidence needed to interact with the range of people we encounter in this business!
Lissy LaFlamme: Lissy was born and raised in Louisville, KY and loved playing tennis and riding her horses. After raising her 2 sons in Richmond, VA, Lissy relocated to Longboat in 2003 to be closer to her parents, LBK residents since 1974. She lives full-time on the island, residing in the Historic Village with her husband, Randal, and Labrador retriever, Magnolia. The Village, on the north end of the island, is also home to many, many wayward peacocks (a big tourist attraction)! Lissy began working at Sun Resorts International in Sept. 2006 as the property manager for the Beach Castle Resort. She is also a Realtor with Engel & Völkers Longboat Key Realty. She loves to cook and entertain, play tennis, golf and garden. Longboat’s blue skies, sunshine and miles of pristine beach is a definite positive, as well.
Nicole Sacco: Nicole was raised on the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, VA, home of Thomas Jefferson, the Dave Matthews Band & UVA (go Hoos!) In 2003, Nicole moved to Elon, North Carolina to attend Elon University. Here, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Anthropology. After graduating in 2007, Nicole decided to move to sunny Sarasota, a place she had vacationed all her life, where she has since been working in real estate. Now living on Siesta Key, Nicole joined the Sun Resorts International team in August 2009 as the Marketing Manager.
Shannon Neill: Shannon was born in the wonderful sunshine of Sarasota, FL where she grew up and attended The Out-of-Door Academy for most of her childhood and teen life where she later graduated. After graduation, she then pursued her dream of living in the great Carolina’s and attended Elon University, located in the heart of North Carolina where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History in 2007. After college, and horribly pale, she moved back down to the sunny streets of Sarasota and just recently started working at Sun Resorts International. She is enjoying her new position as a Reservationist and is also enjoying getting to know all of her new co-workers.
