Most of our guests to Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key long for the warmth of the sun and beaches of the Gulf of Mexico particularly during the cold, dreary and long months of any given Winter Season.  Relaxing on the pristine beaches along the Gulf of Mexico is the perfect way to forget those cold days and make you the envy of everyone cursing the day -to -day freezing temps from where you came!!

 However, there has to be a balance to this wonderful lifestyle being experienced – it’s called the challenges of Golf!  (Your personal definition of ‘challenge’ can be added here.)  Manatee County along with Sarasota County offer a huge variety of Public Golf Courses where the best can play with the not-so-best players (called the Handicap system).  From Sarasota’s most extraordinary golf club, known as Misty Creek Country Club to the serene setting of The Groves at the Meadows, to the IMG Academies Golf and Country Club (now Semi-Private), the challenges of Golf await your arrival a few miles from the beaches of the Gulf!!

Sun Resorts International can provide a listing of the Golf Courses along with the addresses and phone numbers needed to book your tee times!   Golf Professionals are there to instruct, train and assist in club fitting all of which can improve your game, thus eliminating to a lesser degree the ‘challenges’ discussed above!!
