Beach Castle Gets Festive with Grand Illumination Ceremony

Guests & owners of the Beach Castle Resort kicked off the holiday season Saturday, December 5, 2009, with the annual Grand Illumination ceremony. Resort manager, Lissy LaFlamme, decorated the beachfront complex with the help of Sarah, Daivd & Annie Hale, owners of Beach Castle Unit 1. Also in attendance for the Grand Illumination were Lena & Karl and Yvonne & Nils, two couples from Sweden who have been vacationing at the Beach Castle for years, Sheila & Sandy from Virginia, Janet & family from North Carolina, Marty & Hope from Pennsylvania, and Ellie Ellis of Sun Resorts International.

“This year’s theme, “Candy Land,” according to Lissy, “was Annie’s fantasic idea. It took Annie, Sarah, David and I four days from 9 to 5 to decorate! We celebrated Saturday evening with champagne and appetizers by the pool, and gave many cheers to the beauty of the season. I really look forward to the lighting of Beach Castle every year. I wonder what Annie will think of for Christmas 2010!”

Last year, the Beach Castle came in third place in the annual Longboat Key “Light Up the Keys” decorating contest. Stay tuned to see how the team does this year!
